Organizers on the ground are holding a candlelight vigil to remember Max this Sunday.

From the organizers:

"Please come out this Sunday July 14th, 7pm for a candlelight vigil for Max the Rottweiler who was murdered by Officer Jeffrey Salmon and 6/30/13. It will be the 2 week anniversary of Max's death. I pass by this spot everyday as it is on my way to work. The city keeps taking the memorial down EVERYDAY! I feel like its completely disrespectful to Max's memory and to the Robsy family as well. Please come by all day and leave something for Max. The location is on the corner of 137th st and Jefferson Ave in the city of Hawthorne. (on 137th st. between Prairie and Hawthorne Blvd) Candlelight between 7:30pm - 8:30pm PST."

Please help us get as many people involved in the campaign as possible.

If you can't make it there, show your support by joining online!  Streaming live:

On 6/30/2013 at the residential corner of 137th and Jefferson Ave in the city of Hawthorne, CA Leon Rosby had been asked to turn down the musicfrom his car because it was interfering with an investigation. After some altercations with the cops, he complied with the the police and placed his dog in his car and proceeded to back to the officers. That's when his Rottweiler, Max, which had been barking from inside the car, jumped out of the window and ran toward the police. But then stopped and appeared relatively calm. Max started sniffing the ground. One officer took a step toward Max and appears to try to grab his leash. The dog rears up on its hind legs, as dogs often do when strange people invade their space. The cop leans away and starts firing. The dog twitches horribly on the ground as onlookers scream. Max was unjustly murdered by the Hawthorne Police Department.

This has deeply affected the entire nation and the world.

There will be a peaceful protest at the Hawthorne PD This Sat 7/27 and 7/28, 8am-2pm ALL are welcomed.

FOR THOSE THAT CANT MAKE IT OR ARE OUT OF STATE/OVERSEAS, WE WILL BE STREAMING THE EVENTS ONLINE:
