These are just the ones where people felt strong enough to make dedicated Facebook pages. There are several petitions online now regarding the Max shooting demanding that the offending officer be removed. Over 150,000 people’s signatures have been collected between the multiple petitions. This is a huge matter and a huge concern for many dog owners like me. I know my dog would most likely be shot because she is very scared of strangers and barks at them. However she is not a bad. She is very smart, has gone through all of PetSmarts training classes and just passed her Canine Good Citizen test. Yet she is still leery and scared of strangers. I’m sure her barking which is very intimidating would scare a cop enough to shot her. This mind set in law enforcement NEEDS to change. Our dogs NEED to be protected from trigger happy cops.
